Erickson Senior Living Health Services Team Dedicates Time to Habitat for Humanity's Baltimore Build Day

June 17, 2014

Striving to Make a Positive Difference in Baltimore City

(Baltimore, MD) - The  Erickson Living Health Services (ELHS) team volunteered for Habitat for Humanity's Team Build Day in Baltimore City on Friday, May 30, 2014. This is the first volunteer initiative undertaken by the ELHS team, which consisted of community volunteers from various organizations/businesses providing the finishing touches on a newly built housing community.

"Volunteering for such an important cause was such a rewarding experience," said volunteer April Punzo, Erickson Living's Manager of Health Services. "Having this type of unique opportunity to share our time and talents is a sense of responsibility shared throughout our company and at the core of our mission - 'We share our gifts to create communities that celebrate life.'"

The event took place on Ward Street, where ELHS team members installed new fencing for the newly developed Habitat for Humanity neighborhood. "This was an important part of the project and necessary for completion before a family is able to move into their new house," said Brian Barker, Development Associate of Habitat for Humanity's Chesapeake Region. "Erickson Living's ELHS team did such a quality job and their commitment to helping finish this work is greatly appreciated."
At Erickson Living, employees and residents are empowered to actively engage their time and resources for the betterment of the larger community. Each year, residents and employees donate hundreds of thousands of hours in volunteer time and millions of dollars.
