PARKVILLE, MD---In the 1920's, Logan Dyke walked on I-beams and steel girders high atop the Baltimore skyline for his job constructing hotels and high-rise office buildings. Nearly 100 years later, his daughter, Evelyn Schroedl, 96, found a unique way to follow in her father's footsteps. PARKVILLE, MD---With a pending primary election on June 24th, candidates for Baltimore County and state offices are busy meeting with area voters. The campaigning included a recent stop at Oak Crest as the Erickson Living retirement community hosted a Meet the Candidates Night on May 14th. The event, sponsored by the Oak Crest Chapter of the Maryland Continuing Care Residents Association (MaCCRA) and the Oak Crest Public Affairs Department, offered candidates time to provide information on their backgrounds and election platforms. Calling All Golfers to the Oak Crest Tournament of the Ages II

PARKVILLE, MD---Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, announced its 2nd Tournament of the Ages Golf Outing to be held on Monday, June 30th at scenic Winters Run Golf Club in Bel Air, MD. The event will support the community's Benevolent Care Fund. Oak Crest Honors Student Achievement at 18th Annual Scholars' Award Ceremony

PARKVILLE, MD---They are America's future teachers, mechanical engineers and physicians' assistants. Twenty-six students employed in the Dining Services Department of Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, were honored for their academic achievement and workplace leadership during the 18th Annual Scholars' Award Ceremony held on April 23rd.   The recipients earned collegiate scholarships valued at $1,000 per year for a four-year total of $4,000. Todd Sullivan is the Director of Philanthropy at Oak Crest.  During the ceremony, he announced that $136,757 had been raised during the 2014 Student Scholar Fundraising Drive that began in March.  The contributions came mainly from donations...

PARKVILLE, MD---On Friday, April 25 th , residents and special guests gathered at Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, for the annual Presidential Service Awards Luncheon.  The event marked National Volunteer Appreciation Month.

By the numbers, it was a very notable occasion.  786 residents, students and community adults participated in the Volunteer Program at Oak Crest in 2013. They provided 86,791 hours of service at the campus and in the surrounding community, and more than 246 earned a Presidential Service Award pin for attaining at least 100 hours of volunteer work. PARKVILLE, MD---The performers of the Oak Crest Village Chorus and the Edgewood High School Chamber Singers  collaborated on concerts held at the Erickson Living retirement community on the evenings of April 6th and 7th.
