One Stitch at a Time for Defenders Day

PARKVILLE, MD---Eight residents from Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, used their love of sewing to be part of history. The group visited the Maryland Historical Society in Baltimore on August 22nd to participate in the community-wide creation of a 30' x 42' replica of the original Star Spangled Banner.  The project is in conjunction with this weekend's Defenders Day celebration at historic Fort McHenry. PARKVILLE, MD---Many people have a hot and cold relationship with exercise.  A few weeks dedicated to pedaling on a bike or doing sit-ups turns into months of inactivity. But a group of residents at Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, has made trips to the gym such a regular routine that they could only be described in Baltimore as Ripken-esque. Eighty-five members attended the luncheon, held in the Erickson Conference Center of Oak Crest.  Brian Broberg of the Broberg Investment Group LLC served as the luncheon speaker.
