July 3rd: Oak Crest's Parade of Veterans to Kick-Off Independence Day Weekend

PARKVILLE, MD---The military service men and women who are now residents of Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, have served in the battlegrounds of Europe and the battleships of the Pacific during World War II. 
In Korea, they fought in an early encounter of the Cold War, and they have been stationed around the world...all in defense of liberty and freedom.
On Thursday, July 3rd at 11am, the Greatest Generation and beyond will participate in the Parade of Veterans, an annual tradition at Oak Crest that kicks-off the Independence Weekend celebration.
Led by a Color Guard, veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard will enter the Erickson Conference Center wearing their service uniforms.  A patriotic ceremony, including music and recognition of each service branch, will follow.
Paul Grant, a resident of Oak Crest and former U.S. Army Chaplain, will provide the keynote address.
