PARKVILLE, MD--- The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's™ is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.
Regionally, a walk is being held on Saturday, October 6th at the Bel Air Equestrian Center.
Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community, held a kick-off event at its campus on September 12th, generating enthusiastic support for its team, the Oak Crest Striders. Residents and employees enjoyed a beautiful day by walking around the campus garden area and participating in creative fundraising activities.
"We look forward to participating in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's™ in Bel Air," stated Temica Carter, Wellness Manager at Oak Crest. "It is always a well-run event for a good cause. We encourage people to walk with the Oak Crest Striders or form their own teams to aid the research and family support offered by the Alzheimer's Association."
"Our goal is to raise $6,500 for the Alzheimer's Association, and in one day, over $800 was donated by residents and employees," noted Ms. Carter. "It's a great start, and we look forward to the challenge of meeting our target."
