Pastor Klein Retires as Oak Crest Pastoral Associate

Parkville, Maryland--Pastor Elmer Klein retired after more than 20 years as Pastoral Associate for the Protestant Faith Community at Oak Crest.

A reception in his honor was held on August 3 in the community’s Garden Room.  Hundreds of residents and friends of all faiths attended to celebrate his service, including Baltimore County Councilman David Marks and State Senator Kathy Klausmeier.

Jim Truitt is the Pastoral Ministries Manager at Oak Crest.  

“The outpouring of affection for Pastor Klein is a genuine display of appreciation for his years of spiritual service at Oak Crest and the greater community,” said Mr. Truitt.  “His ministry touched the lives of thousands, and he made just as many friends with his affable personality and caring heart.  We are blessed that he shared his life with us at Oak Crest.”

Prior to joining Oak Crest, he served as the Pastor of St. Michael Lutheran Church and a long-standing Board Member of the Perry Hall Improvement Association.  A resident of Perry Hall, he has two children and five grandchildren.
