Independent Living or Continuing Care Health Services?

Determining the Right Senior Lifestyle for You

Oak Crest is a continuing care retirement community in Parkville, a suburb in Baltimore County, Maryland. While the majority of our residents enjoy an active and independent lifestyle, we also provide assisted living and more at our continuing care health services neighborhood.

What’s the difference between independent living and continuing care health services?

Independent Living

Here, you don’t have to worry about the stress and expense of unexpected repairs. Your independent living apartment home is maintenance-free! Finally, you can retire from mowing the lawn and shoveling snow. From replacing a lightbulb to replacing your dishwasher—our maintenance team is here for you.

There’s more to Oak Crest than your maintenance-free apartment home. Located on 87 acres in Parkville, our campus includes a putting green, pond, glass-enclosed greenhouse, and miles of paved walking paths. Our landscaping team takes care of the upkeep—so you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Located on-site, the medical center is available exclusively to Oak Crest residents. You can also receive care inside your independent living apartment home through certified home health.

Continuing Care Health Services

If the need occurs, independent living residents can transition to the on-site continuing care health services neighborhood. You don’t have to be a current Oak Crest resident to come here, but you have to be a senior age 62-plus.

Here, you’ll find assisted living, inpatient rehabilitation, and nursing care—all in a pleasant and homelike setting. The continuing care health services neighborhood features cozy sunrooms for socializing and cheerful dining venues, where you’ll enjoy meals prepared by our professional chefs.

Our team of caregivers get to know you on a personal level, so they can customize a care plan to meet your needs in mind, body, and spirit.
