Can I rent out my apartment home?

A:

Sorry, no. Per the terms of our residence agreement, you cannot rent out your home. Only the individuals on the contract may be residents here.

What happens if I have a medical emergency in my home?

A:

If you’re in distress, tug on one of the emergency pull cords located throughout your apartment home. A member of our security team will arrive within minutes. For added peace of mind, your front door is fitted with a sentry latch. Each night, our security team flips the latch up. If the latch remains in place the following day, we’ll first call, then knock, then enter your home to make sure you’re okay.

Do I own my apartment home or am I just renting it?

A:

You have the right to reside in your apartment home while we remain responsible for standard maintenance and upkeep. This allows you to enjoy the benefits of home ownership without the hassles that go with it.

No. We’re a continuing care retirement community, also known as a CCRC. The vast majority of our residents enjoy active and independent living; however, we offer additional care services should your health needs ever change.

How does the entrance deposit work?

A:

This one-time fee secures your independent living apartment home for as long as you live here. When you leave the community, 90% of these funds will be returned to you or your beneficiaries. You can also access this money to pay for qualited continuing care expenses.

Who decides if I need care or what type of care I need?

A:

If a concern arises about your ability to live independently, a member of our staff will meet with you and your family to discuss options. You may be eligible to receive care inside your apartment home, or it may be recommended that you transition to on-site continuing care.
