Meet the individuals who manage the day-to-day operations here at Riderwood.

AnchorGary Hibbs, Executive Director

Gary Hibbs joined the Erickson Living family of communities in 1995 after serving as administrator of Wellington Manor, a long-term care facility in Clinton, Maryland. He also practiced law with the Senior Citizen Law Project in Prince George's County, Maryland. Prior to joining the Riderwood executive team, Gary served as regional executive director for eight Erickson Living communities in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kansas. Previously, he served as the executive director of Oak Crest in Parkville, Maryland, and Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. He also served as administrator of Charlestown’s assisted living facility, formerly known as Frederick House. Gary holds M.S.W. and J.D. degrees from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, is a certified L.G.S.W. and a member of the Maryland Bar. He received his nursing home administrator’s license while working with Global Health Management in Maryland, and is also licensed in the state of Michigan as a long-term care administrator. 

 

Wendy Ferris, Associate Executive Director 

Wendy joined Riderwood in May of 2014 as director of general services. Prior to joining the Riderwood team, she served as administrator of an Annapolis, Maryland, CCRC for 11 years and also served in administrative roles for Life Care Services, LLC, at several senior living communities on the east coast. She became a licensed nursing home administrator in 2000. She is a graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County with B.A. degrees in both health science and policy and medical sociology. She also received an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix in 2011.

 

Lori Lusby Hamilton, Administrator of Continuing Care

Lori joined the team at Riderwood in November of 2011 as the assistant administrator of Arbor Ridge and then in April of 2012, she became the administrator. Lori has spent over 30 years in the health care industry. Prior to November 2011, her last position held was as administrator for a 180-bed comprehensive care facility located in Southern Maryland. Lori is currently licensed as a nursing home administrator and preceptor in the State of Maryland and holds a bachelor of science degree from Frostburg State University.

 

Mark Embley, Director of Finance

Mark joined the Riderwood team as the assistant director of finance in the fall of 2015 and was promoted to director of finance in the summer of 2016. Before joining Erickson Living, Mark held various finance and accounting positions for CCRCs. He earned a bachelor of sicence degree in mathematics and a master's degree in business management from the University of Maryland, College Park. Mark is the tenth of fourteen siblings, is married to his best friend, and loves being the father of three children.

 

Jason Longwell, Director of Sales

Jason previously served as associate sales director at Wind Crest, an Erickson Living retirement community in Colorado. Jason has been instrumental in a variety of sales projects and programs at the Erickson Living corporate office in Catonsville, Maryland. He has worked with the Erickson Living central services team to improve sales processes and reporting requirements. Jason's past experience also includes work at Presidio Corporation, where he served as an account director. In addition, he served four years at Northrop Grumman as a senior inside sales representative and as an account manager. Jason holds a B.A. from the University of Delaware.

 

Beverly Jackson, Director of Human Resources

Prior to joining Riderwood, Beverly served as the executive director, human resources at Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital. Beverly’s more than 25 years of human resources experience includes HR management roles at Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services and Energy Solutions, the largest nuclear waste processing company in the United States. Beverly holds a B.S. in human resources and an M.S. in organizational performance from Bellevue University.

 

Jeff Kimbell, Director of Dining Services

Jeff brings more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to this leadership position. He has served the past nine years as a regional director of dining, supporting sister communities in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Colorado. Prior to his employment with Erickson Living, he worked for the Walt Disney Company as the general manager. As director of dining services for Riderwood, he will oversee the operation of six restaurants in the independent living neighborhoods and 12 dining rooms in the continuing care health services neighborhood. Jeff holds a food and beverage certificate of specialization, a B.A. in business administration from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and an M.B.A from Amberton University in Garland, Texas.

 

Michelle Glodeck, Director of Resident Life

Michelle joined the Erickson Living network of communities in 1994 as a social worker at Charlestown. In 2007, she joined the Erickson Living management team as the resident services manager overseeing the social work and intermissions programs for the enterprise. She also assisted in the development and implementation of memory support programs. In 2014, she became the resident life manager at Riderwood. A licensed social worker in the State of Maryland, Michelle holds a master’s degree in social work from University of Maryland. During her career, she has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Maryland Geriatric Association (MGA).
