SILVER SPRING, MD---Timely hitting, a competitive spirit and even a quirky mascot were the keys to victory for the employee softball team of Riderwood retirement community.  The squad captured its second consecutive Erickson Living Softball Tournament championship on Saturday, August 3rd at Rockburn Branch Park in Elkridge, Maryland.   The tournament consisted of teams from five Erickson Living communities throughout the mid-Atlantic (Riderwood, Ann's Choice from Warminster, PA, Charlestown from Catonsville, MD, Oak Crest from Parkville, MD and Greenspring from Springfield, VA). SILVER SPRING, MD---The Continuing Care Neighborhood at Riderwood retirement community attained the maximum score in the four signature categories of the Five-Star Quality Rating System administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Erickson Living community earned a 5-star rating in the Overall, Health Inspection, Staffing and Quality Measure categories, updated in May, 2013.  It is the sixth consecutive year that Riderwood has been rated 5-star overall. Riderwood to Host 6th Annual Mah Jongg Tournament on August 1st

SILVER SPRING, MD---Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, will host its 6th Annual Mah Jongg Tournament on Thursday, August 1st. Open to the public, the five-round competition will be governed in accordance with the National Mah Jongg League.  Approximately 100 Mah Jongg enthusiasts from the mid-Atlantic participated in the 2012 tourney. Registration will take place at 9:15am with tournament play beginning at 9:45am.  The event will occur in Maryland Hall, located in the Montgomery Station Clubhouse of Riderwood (3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904). SILVER SPRING, MD---On a picture-perfect late spring day, residents of Riderwood retirement community brought home the trophy in the Annual Erickson Living Resident Softball Tournament.
