SILVER SPRING, MD (April 27, 2012) - Riderwood retirement community has honored 880 residents who gave a total of 153,000 volunteer hours in the past year. The residents led more than 200 activities and special interest groups, volunteered  at community events, participated in outreach projects and/or worked with Riderwood's departments throughout the 120-acre campus in Silver Spring, MD.  The residents averaged 12,750 volunteer hours per month. In addition, the residents volunteered a total of 17,500 hours at the Renaissance Gardens extended care neighborhood at Riderwood, averaging 1,460 volunteer hours per month.
