Riderwood's August 9th Mah Jongg Tournament is Now Accepting Public Registrations

SILVER SPRING, MD (February 23, 2012) - Riderwood is now accepting public registrations for its annual Mah Jongg Tournament, which will be held Thursday, August 9, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30  p.m., in the Montgomery Station Performance Hall at the retirement community's campus, 3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD. Proceeds from the tournament  will benefit the campus' Benevolent Care Fund. More than $1,000 was contributed to the fund as a result of last year's tournament. The resident-run tournament, which is now in its fifth year, is expected to attract nearly 100 players region-wide from locales such as Northern Virginia, Silver Spring, Annapolis, Bethesda,...

WHAT: A visit this afternoon, Tuesday, January 17, by the nationally-ranked University of Maryland women's basketball team to Riderwood retirement community. Members of the team, which is ranked #8 in the nation with a 17-1 record, will swap hoops stories with Riderwood residents. Players will also sign autographs.
