Riderwood's Facebook Sees a 27% Increase in Viewings During the Past Month

SILVER SPRING, MD (November 8, 2011) - Riderwood retirement community's Facebook page ( www.RiderwoodVillage.us  or  www.riderwood.us  ) has seen a 27% increase in readership in the past month. A total of 12,940 people viewed the page, an increase of 2,000views from the prior month. More than 400 people are viewing the page daily. The majority of traffic (55%) came from email servers, indicating people are referring their friends to Riderwood Facebook through email. SILVER SPRING, MD (November 7, 2011) - The Riderwood Lions Club this week delivered 95 large 55-gallon bags (and five large boxes) of donated clothing and toiletries to Shepherd's Table to help people in need. The items will help more than 100 people weekly who visit Shepherd's Table's Clothes Closet and more than 100 people daily who receive assistance from the organization's Resource Center. SILVER SPRING, MD (November 2, 2011) - Harriet  Perretz always enjoyed watching foreign films - so much so that she has started a weekly Foreign Film Series at Riderwood retirement community, where she reviews foreign film offerings from Netflix in her two-bedroom apartment and then screens them for residents. Her efforts to get residents to appreciate foreign films appear to be working, with more than 100 people in attendance at the screenings. SILVER SPRING, MD (October 27, 2011) -- It has been 85 years since an F-4 tornado touched down on November 9, 1926 about 5 miles southwest of La Plata in central Charles County, cutting a swath that left a ledger from a school house as far away as Bowie. Riderwood retirement community resident Kathleen "Dee" McGrath was one of its child survivors.
