Honor and Praise: Riderwood to Host U.S. Navy Band Brass Quartet on May 27

Silver Spring, MD —Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, will host the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quartet for a special concert to celebrate Armed Forces Day. The concert will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at 2pm in the Encore Theater (Lakeside Commons Clubhouse). Riderwood Lions Club Lives the Mission With Help From Its Friends

SILVER SPRING, MD—Eight years ago, the Riderwood Lions Club began a service project to support Shepherd’s Table, the nonprofit organization in Silver Spring devoted to helping the homeless.

That first year, residents of the Erickson Living retirement community collected thirty-seven shoe boxes filled with donated items for Shepherd’s Table.

In 2014, that number climbed to 552 full-size storage containers. On Friday, February 13, resident members of the Riderwood Lions Club were honored for their efforts by the retirement community’s leadership during a volunteer appreciation luncheon.

SILVER SPRING, MD—As a retired nurse educator from the University of District of Columbia, Barbara Baskerville knows that health awareness saves lives.

“Being informed about your health is a powerful tool,” stated Ms. Baskerville, a resident of Riderwood retirement community in Silver Spring who served twenty-one years as a nurse in the U.S. Army, both in active duty and the reserves. New Fitness Center at Riderwood Gives Residents a Jump Start on the Holidays

About twenty residents of the Erickson Living retirement community are in the Art of Ceramics class, and on November 11th, their work was displayed at the group’s 2nd Annual Exhibition 2014.
