SILVER SPRING, MD—As a retired nurse educator from the University of District of Columbia, Barbara Baskerville knows that health awareness saves lives.

“Being informed about your health is a powerful tool,” stated Ms. Baskerville, a resident of Riderwood retirement community in Silver Spring who served twenty-one years as a nurse in the U.S. Army, both in active duty and the reserves. She is currently a member of the Resident Advisory Council, serving as its Liaison to the Medical Center.

New Fitness Center at Riderwood Gives Residents a Jump Start on the Holidays

SILVER SPRING, MD—As the holidays approach chock full of home-cooked dinners and sweet treats, staying in shape is a seasonal challenge that leads to many new year’s resolutions.

This year, residents of Riderwood have a leg up in burning off those extra calories.
