Riderwood EMS Team Receives Star of Life Award in Geriatrics

SILVER SPRING, MD---Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, received the Star of Life Award in Geriatrics from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). The state agency's presentation to the Riderwood Emergency Medical Services team was held on May 21st at the Miller Senator Office Building in Annapolis. The recognition was given "for providing high quality care for Maryland's geriatric population through effective institutional policies, outreach in the community, health & well-being and training staff in administering basic first aid." The notecard on the delivery read "To the Residents of Riderwood: Wishing you a bountiful and beautiful spring! -Sean 'P Diddy' Combs & Combs Entertainment." Riderwood to Host Sales Spring Barbecue on May 15

SILVER SPRING, MD---Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, is firing up the grill for an old-fashioned cookout on Thursday, May 14th at 11:30am. The event, hosted by the Sales Department, will feature delicious barbecue fare and drinks prepared by Riderwood's award-winning Dining Services Team.  Additionally, attendees will learn about Erickson Realty and Moving Services, a comprehensive program successfully used by future residents to sell their houses quickly and for a good price. Riderwood Honors Its 2014 Scholarship Fund Recipients

SILVER SPRING, MD---They are future pharmacists, environmental engineers, art therapists and teachers.  They balance school and work with impressive results. Seventy-six employees of Riderwood were honored for their academic excellence and workplace achievement at the Erickson Living retirement community's 2014 Scholarship Awards Program on April 9th. Ten high school seniors received four-year collegiate scholarships, and sixty-six adult learners received one-year awards based on contributions by residents to the Riderwood Scholarship Fund.  During the ceremony, Fiona Divecha, Philanthropy Manager at Riderwood, announced that over $195,000 was raised for the program during a one-month campaign.  Judy Kneen is a resident of Riderwood...

Donald Murphy, the father of Pinewood Derby according to the Boy Scouts of America, might have only imagined the lasting impact he created.
