Riderwood Honors Its 2014 Scholarship Fund Recipients

SILVER SPRING, MD---They are future pharmacists, environmental engineers, art therapists and teachers.  They balance school and work with impressive results. Seventy-six employees of Riderwood were honored for their academic excellence and workplace achievement at the Erickson Living retirement community's 2014 Scholarship Awards Program on April 9th. Ten high school seniors received four-year collegiate scholarships, and sixty-six adult learners received one-year awards based on contributions by residents to the Riderwood Scholarship Fund.  During the ceremony, Fiona Divecha, Philanthropy Manager at Riderwood, announced that over $195,000 was raised for the program during a one-month campaign.  Judy Kneen is a resident of Riderwood...

SILVER SPRING, MD---Some were passed from generation to generation, while others were recently made.  But there was a meaningful story behind each of them. Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, hosted an African-American Quilt Show on February 11th in the Chesapeake Room.  The event was sponsored by the resident-led Riderwood Quilt Club and the African-American History Club.
