A free Thursday, March 29, Home Expo at Riderwood retirement community that will put people in touch with real estate professionals, downsizing experts, home staging specialists, and packing and moving company representatives. In addition, Riderwood's floor plans will be open for tours. Nearly 400 people from Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia will attend this event.
The Home Expo will be held on Thursday, March 29, from noon - 2 p.m., at Riderwood, 3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring. Refreshments will be served.
MARKET DEMAND FOR RETIREMENT LIVING:
Riderwood rmarked a 31 percent increase in settlements of apartment homes for yearend 2011 and a 28 percent jump in reservations.
People moved to Riderwood from nearly all geographic areas of Montgomery and Prince George's counties, with some moving from as far away as California and Washington state. Riderwood officials attribute the sales increases, in part, to the introduction of a Lower Entrance Deposit option, which enabled people to move in for only 10 percent of the original Entrance Deposit price if they pay a higher monthly fee.
Riderwood, which has nearly 3,000 residents, sits on 120 acres that stretch across Prince George's and Montgomery Counties.
