Seabrook Community Has a Splashing Good Time at Wacky Raft Race Competition

On July 13, more than 60 employees and residents at Seabrook Retirement Community had a splashing good time at the community’s “Wacky Raft Race” competition. During the fun-filled event, teams paraded around the Village Center pool to showcase their decorated rafts, competed in Wacky Raft races, and enjoyed music and Italian Ices.

“Residents and staff look forward to this entertaining event where they can come together for friendly competition, exercise, and socializing,” said Executive Director Todd DeLaney. “We host activities like this throughout the year which contributes to making Seabrook a great place to live and work.”

Seabrook Awards $157,900 in Scholarships to Local High School Students

Seabrook Retirement Community held its annual Scholar Awards Ceremony June 10. At the event, 28 graduating high school seniors were awarded $4,800 scholarships. In addition, the community gave out an additional $23,500 in Named Scholarships.

The Scholar’s Program is funded by the residents of Seabrook to support high school students employed on campus who have shown commitment to serving the Seabrook community. Seabrook Permanently Loaned Czech Holocaust Torah Scroll

A Torah Scroll rescued in Czechoslovakia during the Holocaust is on permanent loan to Seabrook Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, from Memorial Scrolls Trust in London. Through the generosity of the Seabrook Faith Communities, residents and staff, Seabrook raised more than $5,000 to fund the project.

Culver Hayes, 85, Completes 4,000 Workouts at Seabrook Fitness Center

At 85 years young, while many are just getting up in the morning, Culver Hayes can be found working out in Seabrook Retirement Community’s fitness center six days a week. Since moving to the community in November 2001, he has completed 4,000 workouts.

“Working out makes me feel good,” said Hayes. “Without it, I feel sluggish.”

Hayes has been active his whole life. When he resided in Berkeley Heights, he used to run in the morning before going to work. At Seabrook, he uses the aerobic machines and free weights in the fitness center.

Seabrook Community Donates 400 Turkeys to Local Food Banks at Annual Turkey Trot

On November 18, a 5 Ft Turkey and the Monmouth Regional High School Marching Band led more than 200 Seabrook residents and staff on a one-mile stroll around campus at the community's annual Turkey Trot. After the walk, over 400 turkeys, donated by residents and staff, were loaded onto trucks and delivered to Bradley Food Pantry, Interfaith Neighbors, and Lunch Break. Seabrook Celebrates Opening of Solar Farm

On September 21, Seabrook Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, celebrated the opening of its approximate 4-megawatt net-metered Solar Farm, located on the perimeter of campus, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception. More than 100 residents and employees attended the celebration.

On September 10, Seabrook Retirement Community hosted a Grandparents Day celebration for more than 300 residents, staff and their families. The fun event included a petting zoo, touch-a-truck, Tinton Falls Police K-9 Unit, pony rides, bounce house, Little Jimmie’s Italian Ices, carnival games, cotton candy, popcorn, and more. Seabrook Unveils New TV Studio

Seabrook, a continuing care retirement community in Tinton Falls, N.J., unveiled a new look for its in-house TV studio at a ribbon cutting ceremony recently.
