There’s never been a better time to plan for your retirement living

"There's never been a better time to join the priority list at Seabrook," says Sales Counselor Dennise Baldwin. "Over the next five years, you'll see renovations all across our 98-acre campus. It will be like a brand-new community. Plan now to make sure an apartment home is available when you're ready to move."

The Tinton Falls, N.J., Erickson Living-managed community has long been a popular choice for retirees. But with a near-complete facelift underway, Seabrook is generating more interest among those looking for amenity-rich, maintenance-free living.

"There's no better way to plan for retirement than to join our priority list," Baldwin says. "Especially because we're seeing an increase in appointments from people who are curious about the renovations and want to plan their move now."

The priority list is the first step in moving to Seabrook. It not only acts as a waiting list for the apartment home of your choice, but it also allows you to get to know Seabrook and your future neighbors. Priority list members get invited to exclusive community events and can even try clubs and activities before moving. So you feel at home even before settling in.

Additionally, priority list members are the first to know of planned construction projects and updates. "It's a great way to simply stay informed about what's happening here," Baldwin says.

While you never lose your place in line on the list, if someone before you turns down an apartment home, you have the chance to move in sooner than you might have expected. "It might be months or years before that apartment style or location is available again, so take advantage of the opportunity when it comes along," Baldwin advises.

Personal touch

In addition to common area renovations, every apartment home gets refurbished before you move in, and you have the opportunity to customize it with Seabrook's own Custom Interiors department, which offers interior design services.

Another unique aspect priority list members can take advantage of is Erickson Realty and Moving Services. Each Erickson Living-managed community has its own local personal moving consultant who provides complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, including downsizing, home staging, packing, and selection of a real estate professional.

"Prospective residents have access to a host of resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, which simplifies every step of the move," says Baldwin.

Priority list success

When priority list member Irene Wieckowski decided to speed up her moving timeline in favor of one-level living instead of the 28 steps she had to climb daily, Seabrook's personal moving consultant visited her Lyndhurst, N.J., apartment to create a furniture layout and help her choose which pieces she would bring and where they would go in her new Fremont-style apartment home.

Irene was able to bring all of the furniture she wanted, including a 36-inch round kitchen table, a dining room table with six chairs, a hutch that fits perfectly in a nook between the kitchen and open living area, a sofa, two side chairs, a coffee table, a recliner, and a curio cabinet.

"And I still have plenty of room to walk around," Irene says.

Irene's bedroom fits her full-size bed, a large dresser, two side chairs, one night table, and an armoire. She says her home's linen closet and coat closet provide extra storage in addition to her large walk-in closet that connects her bedroom to the bathroom. And most important, her washer and dryer are in her apartment—no more climbing 28 steps with a loaded laundry basket.

"It's perfect for me. The more space you have, then the more clutter you're going to have," she says. "I downsized, and I'm happy with how it worked out."

When asked how moving to Seabrook has improved her life, Irene lists five main benefits: "I don't have to do the stairs. I don't have to cook or shop for groceries. I've met a lot of nice people and made a lot of friends. I've gotten involved in a lot of activities. And I'm very happy here."
