OVERLAND PARK, KS (December 12, 2016) -- The back room at Perkins restaurant in Lenexa, Kansas, is a rollickin’ place to be on the third Tuesday morning of each month. OVERLAND PARK, KS (November 11, 2016) – Blue Sage Pointe continuing care neighborhood at Tallgrass Creek retirement community today dedicated a permanent Wall of Valor to honor its residents who have served in the United States armed forces.

Cocktail Hour Fundraiser Raises $13,000 for Tallgrass Creek's Resident Care Fund

OVERLAND PARK, KS (October 7, 2016) -- "Creating a Spirit of Giving," a cocktail hour fundraiser, raised $13,000 for Tallgrass Creek retirement community's Resident Care Fund. This fund assists residents in the event they deplete their assets.

Nearly 100 People Participate in Tallgrass Creek's Blue Sage Pointe Olympics

OVERLAND PARK, KS (September 21, 2016) – Nearly 100 Tallgrass Creek retirement community residents, staff and family members participated in the recently-held Blue Sage Pointe continuing care neighborhood’s Olympics.

The two-week event featured Wii bowling, Frisbee discus toss, Nerf gun shooting range, soda pong/bounce out, remote car races, ladder ball toss, bean bag toss, squirt gun races, and softball shotput.

Tallgrass Creek Residents Explore Dance Fusion

OVERLAND PARK, KS (September 6, 2016) – Tallgrass Creek retirement community residents who participate in a weekly Dance Fusion class are learning a wide range of dance styles and multi-cultural influences. And they are doing this in a setting that allows them to explore their love of dance at their own pace, expanding their individual choreographic creativity in the process.

About eight residents regularly attend the 45-minute class, which is included in the community’s monthly Group Fitness offerings. No dance experience is necessary...

Tallgrass Creek Couple Celebrates 70th Anniversary

OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Jim and Elsie (Treu) Pickett, of Overland Park and formerly of Salina, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 20, 2016.

This joyous occasion was hosted by their family at Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park.

Jim worked for the Salina Journal in advertising for 40 years. Elsie was a cosmetologist in Salina. They were married August 19, 1946.
