Tallgrass Creek Adds New Building to Meet Demand for Active Retirement Lifestyle

January 13, 2020

Overland Park, Kans. – January 14, 2020 –Tallgrass Creek, a senior living community developed and managed by Erickson Living, has announced plans to open a new independent living building on its scenic 65-acre campus later this year. Throughout the country, Erickson Living-managed communities are known for their dynamic lifestyle, state-of-the-art amenities, and superior health and wellness.

Construction is now underway on the building, which will be named Fountain View, a nod to Kansas City's nickname "City of Fountains". Since George Kessler constructed Kansas City's first fountain in 1899, the city's love of aquatic features as grown and flourished. Today, Kansas City boasts more than 200 sparkling showpieces, each spilling over with unique themes and distinctive details. Tallgrass Creek is proud to carry on this time-honored tradition in its newest building with a fountain as its focal point.

Fountain View will feature 132 new apartment homes in a variety of floor plans, including eight brand new layouts. In addition, residents will enjoy a plethora of amenities, including two new restaurants, a fitness center, yoga studio, card and game room, creative arts studio as well as the beautiful new Village Square Courtyard which will be designed around the fountain centerpiece.

A climate-controlled walkway will connect Fountain View to Tallgrass Creek's Audubon Clubhouse, providing residents with convenient access to the on-site medical center, additional dining options, and even more amenities and services.

With occupancy rates at Tallgrass Creek at more than 99 percent, it will be important for those interested in moving to Fountain View to act quickly. Since reservations for the new building opened in late 2019, many floor plans have already sold out.

"It's exciting to see so much interest in the community," said Blake Marshall, Director of Sales at Tallgrass Creek. "We know how unique and special Tallgrass Creek is, but the demand for this lifestyle has exceeded even our own expectations."

Tallgrass Creek expects to welcome the first residents to Fountain View in late 2020. They will join the community of more than 500 seniors who are already enjoying a vibrant, engaged retirement lifestyle.

"All of our apartment homes, including the new ones in Fountain View, enjoy easy access to a long list of amenities and services, including a pool, multiple fitness centers, salon and day spa, and several unique restaurants," said Marshall. "We are proud to offer so many high-quality services at a price point that is a great value for seniors in the Kansas City area."

In addition to providing high quality senior living, Tallgrass Creek's expansion will create additional employment opportunities in management, sales, health care, culinary arts and other hospitality fields.
