OVERLAND PARK, KC (August 1, 2016) – Tallgrass Creek retirement community residents in Overland Park, KS, will celebrate the Rio Summer Olympics on Friday, August 5, with their own version of the Summer Olympics Games.
The "Tallgrass Creek Summer Olympic Games" will start at 8 a.m. in the swimming pool and will continue throughout the day in locales around the retirement community's campus, located at 13800 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, KS, until 1:30 p.m. An Opening Ceremony – complete with residents carrying an Olympic torch will kick-off the games.
A schedule of the games follows:
8 - 8: 30 a.m.: Swimming in the pool
8:30 - 9:30 a.m.: Mini Golf on the Putting Green
9 - 10 a.m.: Bocce Ball on the Market Place Patio
9 – 10 a.m.: Ladder Ball on the Market Place Patio
10 – 10:30 a.m.: Basketball Free-Throw Shooting on the Market Place Patio
10-10:30 a.m.: Water Balloon Toss on the Market Place Patio
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.: Badminton in the Sunflower room
11:30 – Noon: Dice Stacking in the Clubhouse Classroom
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.: Indoor walking in the Fitness Center
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.: Indoor bicycling/NUStep in the Fitness Center
12:30 – 1 p.m.: Speed Scrabble in the Clubhouse Classroom
12:30 – 1 p.m.: Sudoku in the Clubhouse Classroom
1 -1:30 p.m.: Wii Bowling in the Living room
1 – 1:30 p.m.: Shake-a-Thon in he Clubhouse Classroom
