Tallgrass Creek's Lynn Schaffer is Erickson Senior Living 2015 Leadership Award Recipient

OVERLAND PARK, KS (April 21, 2015) – Lynn Schaffer, Finance Director for Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park, KS,  is the 2015 recipient of Erickson Living's Leadership Award.  This award is given annually to a Manager or Director who exemplifies the Erickson Way in each of the company's managed communities and at its Corporate office.

Schaffer joined Tallgrass Creek in August 2013 and is responsible for the monthly financial reporting of the community, development of the operations budgeting and forecasting, resident billings and audit support.  She also provides financial training and support across all departments and helps lead the strategic planning process.

She was nominated for the Erickson Living Leadership Award by multiple colleagues at the Tallgrass Creek and is a proven leader in the areas of Finance, Accounting and Strategy.  She brought her experience, foresight and vision to the 400+ residents of this growing community.

She realizes the importance of being visible in the community and developing relationships with residents and staff alike.  She takes the time to get to know the residents and staff personally by name.  She recognizes the importance of communicating with residents and staff and she actively participates in resident forums and employee focus groups.

She encourages others and recognizes the contributions of others, often going the extra mile.  With her motto "How Can I Help?" she is consistently kind, helpful and quick to respond to resident concerns.  She exhibits patience and respect even in difficult circumstances.
