Tallgrass Creek’s Continuing Care Neighborhood Named “Best Nursing Home” by U.S. News & World Report

Tallgrass Creek's continuing care neighborhood was recently named a “Best Nursing Home” by U.S. News & World Report.

“To be named among the top care providers in the country speaks volumes about our team’s commitment to serving seniors and celebrating life,” said Jean Landreville, Tallgrass Creek’s Executive Director. “I am so proud to see the team’s hard work and dedication to providing each and every resident with exceptional, compassionate care recognized in this way.”

U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 homes nationwide, in every state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas. This year, 2,975 nursing homes earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home.

Tallgrass Creek is one of seven Erickson Living-managed communities nationwide selected by U.S. News & World Report for this honor. The others are Ann’s Choice (Pennsylvania), Ashby Ponds (Virginia), Brooksby Village (Massachusetts), Linden Ponds (Massachusetts), Riderwood (Maryland) and Wind Crest (Colorado). “What sets Tallgrass Creek apart is our holistic, person-centered approach,” said Ben Ross, L.N.H.A., Continuing Care Administrator. “Our dedicated team is focused on recognizing each resident as individual and working collaboratively to meet their unique physical, spiritual and emotional needs.”

Since its inception in 2009, the U.S. News nursing home ratings have relied on data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. This year, due to CMS' recent move from a self-reported to a payroll-based nurse staffing reporting and a freeze in health inspection data since November 2017, U.S. News modified the way it uses CMS data for evaluating a nursing home's overall performance.

In addition to skilled nursing care, Tallgrass Creek’s continuing care neighborhood offers assisted living, rehabilitation services, memory care and more. Tallgrass Creek also features independent living apartment homes. Earlier this fall, the community opened Goldfinch Lane, its fifth independent living residence building featuring 78 brand-new apartment homes in a variety of spacious floor plans.
