Nontraditional therapies offer hope and relief to many patients, but what are the risks and what really works? Healthline Presents: Whole Body Health, a new program from Retirement Living TV (RLTV) explores the world of alternative medicine.

Hosted by award-winning medical journalist, Dr. Kevin Soden, Whole Body Heath asks practitioners, patients, and experts from leading medical institutions to weigh in on the benefits and risks of various alternative therapies.

Native American medicine, yoga, meditation, and supplements are just a few of the many subjects covered in Whole Body Health. In one early episode, Soden undergoes bee sting therapy for pain in his knee and shoulder, an experience he likens to being burned with a hot pepper.

While Whole Body Health encourages viewers to think beyond traditional treatment methods, Soden keeps the perspective grounded in commonly accepted medical practices. "It s a very interesting series," says Soden, "because it stretches the boundaries on what traditional medicine offers. We need to keep our mind open to certain things, but at the same time, we need to be skeptical about things too. I always say, Show me the data! "
