Company unveils incentive for 62-plus customers

Erickson Retirement Communities recently launched an unprecedented incentive to speed up the sale of people s houses and help cover their moving expenses. The initiative called Erickson Realty & Moving Services offers these benefits once people raise their hands to move to an Erickson community. "So many people love what they see when they come on campus, but they are hesitant about the moving process or selling their house," says Vice President of Erickson Realty & Moving Services Mike Redmond. "Our unique program helps people speed up the sale of their homes and get the most value for their property." How it works "At the heart of a quick real estate sale is ensuring you are using the right real estate agent," says Suzy McAllister, a personal moving consultant with Erickson Realty & Moving Services. McAllister and the 18 other personal moving consultants who work for Erickson nationwide help put future residents in touch with real estate professionals who have had success in their respective neighborhoods.

"These agents are on our list because they are trustworthy and good at selling houses," McAllister adds. "They know their markets really well and are experts in their field. So if our customers use a real estate professional from our list of pre-screened and trusted agents, we know that they will be in good hands and doing everything in their power to sell that home. We will, in turn, reimburse our customers for a portion of their moving expenses." Move on Us Dorothy and John Engelbrecht recently benefited from this financial incentive, called the Move on Us program, when they moved to an Erickson community. "The service really did help us sell our home and get on with our life here very quickly," Mrs. Engelbrecht says. "Had we not used the service, we would have certainly gone on and gotten our own real estate person and had to make arrangements for all the other things," her husband adds, referring to a significant benefit of Erickson Realty & Moving Services its personal moving consultants can suggest vendors that offer better deals and higher quality on landscaping, painting, or other services that may help sell a home faster and for a higher price. "This program made the process a lot easier," says Mr. Engelbrecht. "And being reimbursed for $2,000 didn t hurt, either." Right agent, right price McAllister says the key to the entire program is knowing the market. "We never sell a house for a lower amount of money just to make a move quicker," she explains. "When an agent prices a home, they send us an analysis. It s a comparative market analysis or a broker market analysis that shows the homes that have sold within a half mile in the last six months. Everything we do is based on current market value. Our customers are the ones in control. They make the decisions. We are just an extra set of eyes to look out for their best interest." Joan Petrak, who used Erickson Realty & Moving Services and was reimbursed through the Move on Us program, says she was ecstatic with the results.
