Every day, more and more people flock to the Internet to find information on an array of topics. And increasingly they re using the Internet for entertainment sharing jokes, watching videos, and reading news stories. With so many websites out there, how do you sift through all of them to find the ones that actually interest you? Now there s a tool you can use to find websites, photos, news stories, and videos that are tailored to your interests. It s called StumbleUpon (www.StumbleUpon.com). StumbleUpon is a toolbar that is installed in your Internet browser, allowing you to choose which topics interest you and displaying relevant websites with one click of the stumble button. Now you re ready for the best of the Internet to come to you rather than the other way around. Getting started First, make sure you have either the Internet Explorer or Firefox browser installed on your computer. Go to StumbleUpon.com and click on the sign up now button. Fill out the form and click join now. Follow the instructions for downloading the toolbar. Once the installation is finished, you should see the StumbleUpon toolbar on the top part of your browser. Click the sign-in button and enter your login information. When you ve successfully logged in, you ll see a website asking you to select your interests. Choose as many interests as you want and click the save button. You are now ready to stumble! Click the stumble button to be taken to a page based on your interests. If you like it, click the thumbs up button; if you don t, click the thumbs down button. After a few thumbs up and thumbs down clicks, you ll see that StumbleUpon is figuring out what you like. You can also click the photos icon for pictures or the TV icon for videos the more you participate the more relevant the content will be. And StumbleUpon will keep your content so you can e-mail it or access it later to share with friends and family from any computer.
