Deciding to trade the upkeep of their twobedroom, three bath, Hanover, Pa., house for a more carefree lifestyle, it seemed only natural that Francis and Rosemarie Fabian would put Charlestown at the top of their list. The rest, as they say, is history.

Family ties

In October 2009, the couple sold their ranchstyle home of 18 years and moved back to Maryland to be close to their kids and the area they still loved. The workload around the house was beginning to get more difficult to handle, says Mr. Fabian. We both loved Hanover, Pa., but we knew we wanted a change. We decided to relocate back to the Baltimore area because we know it so well and three of our four children are close by one in Ellicott City, one in Linthicum, and another on Kent Island. The only problem was, the Fabians were worried they may have missed the boat when it came to selling their house. But they say with the help of Charlestown s Personal Moving Consultant Vera Ballard, they were able to navigate their way through the home sale and moving process with ease. We love Vera! says Mr. Fabian. Initially, she came to Hanover to visit our house and provided us with a list of referrals for moving-related services. She also took care of any problems or incidentals we came across during the time our house was on the market and provided us with whatever help we needed. She was always very, very polite, and we really consider her a friend.

Home sweet home

Now, four months after settling into their new apartment home at Charlestown, the Fabians say they couldn t be happier. This is a great place to be! he says. We re very pleased with our move. We enjoy dining in the restaurants. Everyone has been welcoming. And we see our friends from Brooklyn quite often now. He says they re also pleased with their new apartment home: We re on the fifth floor, and we love it because we have a great view of the Baltimore City skyline and all the lights at night, and we catch the sun coming up every morning. It s just marvelous to watch.
