Sometimes bigger is better

Unique combo floor plans create expanded living space

In an effort to meet the growing demand for larger apartment homes, Riderwood is currently combining one- and two-bedroom apartment homes to create more spacious living spaces. Large apartments are very popular in this area, says Riderwood Director of Sales Jason Longwell. By reconfiguring current inventory to meet demand, we are able to offer modern floor plans with two bedrooms, a den, and larger storage space.

Unique combo units

These combo units, first introduced in late 2006, offer at least 1,500 square feet of living space and exclusive, one-of-a-kind designs. In addition, each of these large homes is completely customizable. Residents are able to choose cabinetry and flooring to meet their taste, says Longwell. And we are able to make those changes as we build, rather than come in later to do it.

Taking advantage

Ken and Glenna Lee, who moved to Riderwood in November 2006, took full advantage of one of the community s first combo apartment homes. Their 1,900 square-foot home boasts two bedrooms, two full baths, living room, dining room, a large kitchen, sunroom, and office. The former second kitchen is now an enviable storage room. We were on the Riderwood Priority List for two years, says Mrs. Lee. When we were ready to move, Riderwood did not have any two bedroom homes available. Because Ken had owned his own business, we needed the space of a two bedroom home to store files and records. Being from Missouri the Show Me State when we were told that Riderwood would be introducing a few combo units I said, Show me! Once the couple saw a floor plan, they decided to see the apartment in person right away. They chose a home that looks out over the garden in Riderwood s Fox Run neighborhood. We are absolutely happy with our apartment home, says Mrs. Lee. Riderwood s decision to combine apartment homes into larger homes is a really good idea. We are very, very pleased.
