Q: Can I customize my apartment home?

A: Your home is a reflection of you. Just because you re moving out of a house and into an apartment doesn t mean you have to sacrifice your personal style. Whether it s custom carpentry work such as built-in bookcases, shelving, crown molding, and custom closets, or designer lighting, window treatments, upgraded carpet, tile, hardwood flooring, or granite countertops, our custom interiors department can help you design a beautiful space that s uniquely you.

Q: Once I m ready to move, how long will I have to wait for my home at Charlestown to become available?

A:It depends. Some select studio and one-bedroom apartments are available now without a wait. One-bedroom with den and two-bedroom homes typically range from six months to a year. However, typically, the more specific your tastes regarding a particular view, neighborhood, or certain features like a patio, balcony, or end unit, the longer the wait. The safest way to avoid an extended wait is to join the priority list. Joining the priority list gives you options. You pick the styles of homes you are most interested in and when one of those becomes available, you are given the right of first refusal according to your priority list date. If you are not ready to move, just let us know and we ll move to the next person.

Q: How much will it cost to live at Charlestown and what is included with those costs?

A: There are two basic costs associated with living at Charlestown a one-time refundable entrance deposit* that is returned to you or your family if you ever leave the community, and a monthly service package that covers nearly every expense and gives you financial predictability. The monthly service package ' covers: Gas and electric Water Property taxes Trash collection Apartment home maintenance Heating and air-conditioning Lawn care and landscaping Snow removal from common areas Scheduled local transportation Major repairs 24-hour security and emergency services One meal a day at on-site restaurants Access to all on-campus services, including the convenience store, bank, and hair salon Access to a variety of leisure activities and amenities, including the pool, library, creative arts studio, and computer lab Basic cable/satellite *As per the Residence and Care Agreement.
