Wind Crest Sales Counselor Molly Thorne-Dhieux encounters hundreds of interesting people each month who are actively researching their retirement options. Here she answers some of the most frequent questions she receives about Erickson Living s unique lifestyle at the Highlands Ranch community.

Q: Can I customize my apartment home?

A: Your home is a reflection of you. Just because you re moving out of a house and into an apartment doesn t mean you have to sacrifice your personal style. Whether it s custom carpentry work such as built-in bookcases, shelving, crown molding, and custom closets, or designer lighting, window treatments, upgraded carpet, tile, hardwood flooring, or granite countertops, our custom interiors department can help you design a beautiful space that s uniquely you.

Q: Once I m ready to move, how long will I have to wait for my home at Wind Crest to become available?

A:It depends. Some one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments are available now without a wait. The one-bedroom with den and two-bedroom luxury homes typically range from ten months to one and a half years. However, typically the more specific your tastes regarding a particular view, neighborhood, or certain features like a patio, balcony, or end unit, the longer the wait. The safest way to avoid an extended wait is to join the priority list. Joining the priority list gives you options. You choose the styles of homes you are most interested in and when one of those becomes available, you are given the right of first refusal according to your priority list date. If you are not ready to move just yet, let us know and we ll contact the next person on the list.

Q: How much will it cost to live at Wind Crest and what is included with those costs?

A:There are two basic costs associated with living at Wind Crest a one-time refundable entrance deposit* which is returned to you or your family if you ever leave the community, and a monthly service package that covers nearly every expense and gives you financial predictability. The monthly service package covers: Gas and electric Water Property taxes Trash collection Apartment home maintenance Heating and air-conditioning Lawn care and landscaping Snow removal from common areas Scheduled local transportation Major repairs 24-hour security and emergency services One meal a day at on-site restaurants Access to all on-campus services, including the convenience store, bank, and hair salon Access to a variety of leisure activities and amenities, including the pool, library, creative arts studio, and computer lab Basic cable/satellite

Q: Are there any restrictions placed on me when I move to Wind Crest?

A:Well, you may need a day planner to keep track of all the activities that you ll want to be a part of! And you are required to forget about what it s like to worry about paying bill after bill since they are all covered by one monthly service plan. But on a serious note, I m certain that without the headaches of a house to take care of, you ll find you have more freedom when you move to Wind Crest. Just like your home now, your Wind Crest home is yours. That means whether you want to bring along your baby grand piano, share your home with your pet dog Fido, have your grandkids spend the night, or exercise in the fitness center at midnight, the choice is yours.
