In a buyer s market it can be difficult to attract home buyers and sell your house quickly. But if you do some inexpensive home improvements before putting your house up for sale, it can help decrease the time your house sits on the market.   • Improve your property by painting. If your living room is pink, you can expect buyers to walk in and walk right back out. Your rooms should be warm and inviting. Fresh paint will make things look new and clean. Also, repaint any bright-colored rooms with neutral colors. Painting enables your real estate agent to put freshly painted in the ads for your property.
  • Remove wallpaper. It s a deal breaker get rid of it. Wallpaper dates a room and narrows your potential buyers.
  • Paint over wood paneling. Use wood filler to fill cracks, then paint over the paneling this will allow the room to look larger and brighter.
  • Depersonalize your walls. Remove all of your family photos. When potential home buyers see your family photos hanging on the walls, it puts your own brand on the house and makes it difficult for them to imagine themselves living in the home.
