Everyone has different needs and desires when it comes to their homes. Some people want a spacious living area, and others prefer a large kitchen for cooking. Some people might require a formal dining room for entertaining and others need a guest bedroom for out-of-town guests. Still other people prefer to live in a smaller, cozier space that requires less cleaning and maintenance. Because people s needs for their living spaces are as unique as people themselves,Tallgrass Creekoffers a variety of different apartment home styles and layouts. That way, each resident at the Overland Park community can choose the space that best suits the way he or she lives. Three years ago, Maggie Ryan decided to move from Minnesota to Tallgrass Creek to be closer to her family. Ryan s niece was living in the Kansas City area and was able to help orchestrate her aunt s move. She thought the Glenwood-style apartment home would be the perfect choice for her aunt.

A popular choice

Tallgrass Creek Sales Director Jean Dennis says the Glenwood is one of the most popular apartment home models for both couples and single people. In fact, Dennis says there are currently only five Glenwood apartment homes available at the community. This is one of our most affordable apartment homes with bright windows and a lovely dine-in kitchen, Dennis says. Ryan is now happily settled at Tallgrass Creek. Her Glenwood apartment home has one bedroom plus a den, one-and-a-half bathrooms, and ample living space. But Ryan says what she enjoys the most about her home is its spacious eat-in kitchen. One thing I dislike is where you have to drag your food into the living room or dining room to eat, Ryan says. [The Glenwood] has a big, long kitchen, so you can have a nice-sized table in there.

Of course, Ryan s life at Tallgrass Creek extends well beyond her own home. The community provides residents with access to a well-appointed clubhouse that includes two on-site restaurants, a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a game room, art studio, and several other communal spaces residents can use at any time. Even though Ryan does enjoy cooking and eating in her own kitchen, she enjoys one meal a day at Tallgrass Creek s restaurant, where she can dine with friends without the hassle of having to clean up after dinner. Ryan also takes advantage of the state-of-the-art fitness center, which she visits frequently to stay fit.

Countless ways to meet your neighbors

Over the three years she has lived at Tallgrass Creek, Ryan has had the opportunity to get to know many of her nearly 300 neighbors. She says that just like in any neighborhood, you will find all different kinds of people living at Tallgrass Creek. Many residents find that one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to get to know their neighbors is by getting involved in one of the community s dozens of resident-run clubs and committees. Golf, bridge, quilting, woodworking, scrapbooking, philanthropy, writing, painting, sports, yoga whatever your interests, Tallgrass Creek probably has a club you ll want to join. For her part, Ryan has gotten involved with the events and entertainment committees, which both work with the staff to plan special activities and celebrations for community members. There are a lot of nice people here, Ryan says.
