Refreshing the nest

Eagle’s Trace looks better than ever with design updates

Spring is here, and as timid blooms peep out after a particularly harsh winter, other signs of renewal hold promise for a bright season ahead. At Eagle s Trace, the seasonal itch to refresh and redecorate is keeping the community s design and facilities team on their toes. Our goal is to keep the community looking current so residents feel proud of their home, says Marketing Director Pam Burgeson. Even though Eagle s Trace is only five years old, we re adding some wonderful touches to make it look new again. Some of the updates began last year, when workers replaced the wallpaper in the lower level of the Audubon Clubhouse and refinished the fireplace in the upstairs living room. The new wallpaper has a leather look that gives the walls some texture and adds a little bit of regional flair to the clubhouse, says Jeanie Bengel, custom interiors coordinator, who helped select the new finishes. And the fireplace looks better than new, particularly with the addition of the clock donated by the Treasure Chest, our on-site resale shop run by residents.

Dining room makeover

Up next on the to-do list? A new look for the Garden Room Restaurant and the Eagle s Roost Caf . Both dining spaces will benefit from new upholstery on the chairs, window treatments, paint, and carpet. Every Erickson Living clubhouse has a color scheme, says Bengel. Our color scheme features jewel tones, including a red, blue, and beige. We re keeping those same colors, but we re tweaking them a bit to keep them current. We ve softened the red and replaced the beige with honey and caramel tones. The new look will be warmer and more inviting. In addition to making the community feel welcoming, the design team went to great lengths to ensure the updates were as functional as they were beautiful. We really took the time to research and make sure that we were getting the kind of finishes and materials that were going to last and be appropriate for the use of our space, says Facilities Manager Rachel Giuliani.

Upgraded apartments available

And while the renovations to the common areas benefit the entire community, individual apartments are also getting a makeover. We re adding new touches to select available apartment homes. We want to include updates that showcase an apartment s best features and bring the whole look together. That might mean adding plantation shutters to highlight a lake view or adding granite countertops to complement the cabinetry, says Bengel. Resale apartment homes with upgrades offer outstanding value for the same pricing structure as new apartments, Burgeson points out. This season of freshening up presents a great opportunity for prospective residents to snatch up some beautifully appointed apartments at no additional cost, she says.
