Downsizing from her six-room condo to a one-bedroom-plus-den Gibson apartment home at Ann s Choice was simpler than Laura Rothkopf expected. What made it so easy, she says, was that Colleen came to the condo, brought [the Gibson floor plan], and measured everything. I knew exactly what I could bring. Colleen Rosica is the personal moving consultant at Erickson Living s community in Bucks County, Pa. An accredited home stager and residential real estate agent, she s an expert at guiding prospective residents smoothly through the maze of downsizing, selling a house, and moving to Ann s Choice. Through Erickson Realty and Moving Services, Rosica also maintains a list of approved realty and moving professionals skilled in every aspect of a person s move.

Setting priorities

Because Laura had joined the Ann s Choice priority list last March, Rosica s services, including an initial home assessment, were complimentary. From Rosica s list Laura chose an Easton-area real estate firm, a moving company, and a senior move managing firm. Using an approved real estate agent earned her a $2,000 reimbursement on her moving costs. The condo sold in five days. I was realistic and priced it to sell, Laura says. Laura was living in a 55-plus condo community in Easton near her daughter. It wasn t a good fit, but from her first day at Ann s Choice, Laura felt at home. Moving here was a lifesaving event, she says. Laura also switched her primary care doctor to an Ann s Choice physician whose office is in the campus medical center. She also joined several clubs and helped launch a new one called the Rock n Rollers. She s especially pleased with her new abode. Its d cor reflects her sunny outlook and vibrant lifestyle. The home is spacious and accommodates visits from her three young grandchildren in fact, they want to move in! Since one meal a day is included in residents monthly service package, Laura dines each evening in one of the restaurants at Ann s Choice. Laura no longer cooks, not even for special occasions. For Thanksgiving she reserved a private dining room on campus and hosted her family for an Ann s Choice chef-prepared holiday meal.
