A ‘taste-full’ experience

Variety and choice on the menu at new continuing care neighborhood

When the new continuing care neighborhood opens at Eagle s Trace later this year, guests can expect a dining services program that s designed to please. In addition to serving a variety of meals in the common eating areas, the new neighborhood will offer in-room dining options and 24-hour-a-day access to food. Our goal for the dining experience at the new continuing care neighborhood is to promote variety and choice, says Jeff Kimbell, director of dining operations for Erickson Living.

Flexible dining options

That philosophy is reflected in the community-wide dining experience. Earlier this year, Eagle s Trace rolled out new flexible dining options to residents, allowing them to choose the number of meals they want each month and giving them flexibility to use those meals when they wish. The program met with positive feedback from residents. We ve been very pleased with the flexible dining options, says Jan Murphy, a member of the resident menu planning committee for independent living. It s nice to have choices to accommodate individual preferences. I m glad that will be the case in the continuing care neighborhood too.

Team of professionals

Jim Rondinelli, director of dining services at Eagle s Trace, will oversee the dining program at the new continuing care neighborhood. In collaboration, a dedicated chef will be in charge of menu planning and food preparation. We want to leverage the expertise that already exists in the community, says Kimbell. The professional culinary team at Eagle s Trace will assure the food quality and consistency that our guests expect. The dining program will also feature an interactive component, allowing guests to participate in food planning and preparation to the extent they feel comfortable. We re looking for opportunities to engage continuing care residents in the dining program, says Kimbell. Whether that s planning menus or baking cookies, we re looking for those signature moments that elevate the dining experience.
