Brooksby’s flexible meal plans offer options for every palate

Barbara and Roger Lemay reviewed their menu options daily before selecting an evening dining location from Brooksby Village s three main restaurants. Like many people living in the community, in the 11 years the Lemays have called Brooksby home, they have utilized the one meal per day included in their monthly package. But now, since the rollout of this month s Flex Plan, the Lemays have embraced the two new options for people in the community: Charleen Archambault, director of dining services at Brooksby, says the new plan has been in the works for a couple of years based on feedback from people living in the community. We have a very active population; they re always out with friends or relatives people are off for the day, Archambault says. More and more people were looking for choice. This offers the choice and flexibility for people to be able to use their meals in different ways. People who choose the 20-meal plan will receive a $60 monthly credit on their monthly service package. Those who choose the monthly plan will have a plan similar to what they had before, but with the added option of using the 30 or so meals at any time even twice a day and for guests.

Taste for choice

The Lemays chose the 20-meal plan as a better fit for their lifestyle. The couple often goes to the theater and out to dinner with friends outside of Brooksby. Other days they opt for a light meal from a local deli or cook at home between activities at Brooksby. It s a nice option for those of us who have the lifestyle that we still have, says Barbara, who at one time served on the dining committee at Brooksby. It s really nice to have choice.

Flexibility for everyone

People living in the community can change their meal plan quarterly, particularly if they know ahead of time that they will be spending more time out of town, for example, in the summer months. If you make a mistake, you can always go back to the original plan, Roger adds. Brooksby s dining services continues to make other improvements, adding large-screen digital menus with photos and nutritional information to one of the restaurants and keeping up with popular themed nights, including Casino Night and the favorite lobster bake.
