Kimberly Janson, Maris Grove s sales counselor, excels at helping people find their perfect apartment home at Erickson Living s community in Delaware County, Pa. Janson says the key to finding that dream home is to join the community s priority list. And she recommends joining sooner rather than later because the number of people choosing Maris Grove s carefree lifestyle increases every day. She recently described the advantages of joining and why it s important to do so now. Q: Why join Maris Grove s priority list? A: Joining the list provides options for the future. It gives you the right of first refusal on an available apartment home based on your priority list date. Your joining date will never expire, never change, and will be honored at any Erickson Living community throughout the country. All it takes to join is a $1,000 deposit plus a $150 per-person processing fee. And it s completely risk free. If you change your mind, we completely refund your $1,000 deposit. When you reserve your home, the $1,000 applies to your entrance deposit. Q: Why join now? A: Although we have 1,033 apartment homes at Maris Grove and offer a variety of sizes and floor plans, we re more than 98% sold out. If you hope to move sooner rather than later, being on the list will help. Plus, it s never too early to join. You must be 62 to live at an Erickson Living community, but you can join the list at any age. The children of some of our residents are doing that. They see how much their parents enjoy Maris Grove s vibrant lifestyle and realize that by the time they re ready to move, their priority list date will be an early one. They ll be able to move when they want to the apartment home they want. Q: How does the list work? A: When an apartment becomes available for example, our popular two-bedroom, two-bath Hawthorne style I start with the earliest date on the list and call people interested in that particular apartment style. Even if you ve just joined the list, you could receive a call because not everyone on the list wants the same floor plan or is ready to move just yet. And if you decline the apartment when I call, you won t go to the bottom of the list; your date always stays the same. This summer, when we opened our new Eagle Pointe residence building, priority list members had first pick of its many beautiful floor plans. The wide range of choices prompted some of them to move earlier than they d planned. Q: Are there other benefits? A: One of the biggest benefits is Suzanne McAllister, our personal moving consultant. Her assistance, which is complimentary to priority list members, will simplify every step of your planning, from getting organized, downsizing, and preparing your house for sale, to choosing a real estate agent and arranging your furniture for the ideal fit in your new home. Priority list members also enjoy exclusive Maris Grove events such as home tours and luncheons and Sunday brunches with residents. They can even get a jumpstart on downsizing by donating and discarding unwanted items at Maris Grove s special Big D events. Big D is a one-stop, drive-through downsizing opportunity for priority list members. A much-anticipated event, it s conveniently held here on campus each spring. Priority list members can pull up to a huge shredding truck, pop their car trunk, and watch shredding company employees toss years of paperwork into the shredder. And there s no charge. It s all part of Maris Grove s suite of complimentary services from downsizing and realty advice to packing and moving for people who are moving to Maris Grove.
