Beg to differ I just read your article about Cissy Patterson being the first woman to run a major newspaper in America. I think that honor belongs to Mary Baker Eddy, who established the Christian Science Monitor newspaper in the latter 1800s.

Writer s response: I believe the term major newspaper is the distinction and has to do with circulation figures this accolade or distinction is according to the Library of Congress. As the Christian Science Monitor was first published in 1908 and Ms. Eddy passed away in 1910, it s likely that the paper was not yet as widely distributed when she was alive.
