When Bob and Joan Juday first visited Highland Springs in October 2011, they thought about the possibility of a move sometime in the future. We joined the priority list, not dreaming we would be moving so quickly, says Joan. Gail Wrzesinski, personal moving consultant at the Erickson Living community in North Dallas, visited the Judays in their Plano home to let them know of the resources available through Erickson Realty and Moving Services. When she mentioned their preferred floor plan, the Griffin, was available, the Judays decided it wouldn t hurt to take a look. We wanted a one bedroom with a den, and when we saw this apartment, we loved its location, says Joan. Its proximity to the clubhouse appealed to us. Still, the couple held off. We had friends who had expressed an interest in buying our house, says Joan. But they had to sell theirs first.

Moving forward

After a month of waiting, the couple decided the time was ripe for a move. An Erickson Living-recommended stager came to their three-bedroom, one-story house to help get it ready for the market. Then the couple selected a real estate agent from the list Wrzesinski provided. Gail was a big support to us during the move, says Joan. She put us in touch with the professionals we needed. She also gave us steps to follow to get ready for the move. It simplified the process. Little did they know, the couple was about to get another lesson in perfect timing. We had two offers the first day the house was on the market, says Joan. That started a bidding war, and we ended up getting more than our asking price. Bob, a retired FBI agent, and Joan, a former high school guidance counselor, moved to their new home in June. They still marvel at the turn of events that led them to Highland Springs. The timing was just so perfect, says Joan. We felt it wasn t a coincidence.
