Everything seemed to be going right for Michael and Mary Donofrio they had found their perfect place to retire, sold their house in just five days, and were ready to move forward. But a leaky oil tank in their backyard delayed the sale of their South River, N.J., house. Many people would worry about losing the opportunity on their next home. But lucky for the Donofrios, Seabrook, the Erickson Living community in Tinton Falls where they would move, reserved their apartment home and provided extra help in getting the situation resolved.

Priority list perks

Seabrook held our apartment for us for no extra money, just the $1,000 deposit we had originally made to join the priority list, Michael says. When prospective community members join the priority list, they reserve their place in line for the apartment home of their choice. They also receive extra members-only perks, like special events and services. The Donofrios took advantage of one of those perks: Erickson Realty and Moving Services. Through the complimentary program, Seabrook recommends trusted real estate professionals. Additionally, as an integral part of Erickson Realty and Moving Services, Seabrook s personal moving consultant helps make selling and moving easier. Since 2008, Erickson Realty and Moving Services has centralized the expertise of real estate agents, stagers, and movers, simplifying the moving process. We used a preferred real estate agent and the personal moving consultant. They both went above and beyond their duties, Michael says. With all those resources in place, the Donofrios leaky oil tank was less of a headache, and the couple could rest assured that their new home awaited them. Additionally, for using a preferred real estate agent, the couple was eligible for the Move On Us program, which qualifies them to receive a reimbursement for up to $2,000 of their moving expenses. Michael and Mary moved into their large, one-bedroom Dover-style apartment home on November 17, 2011. Seabrook is great. If you want to get involved, there is so much to do, Michael says. To relax, they sit on their balcony, enjoying the view and fresh sea air blowing in from the Jersey Shore just minutes away. I feel like I m on vacation, Michael says.
