Massachusetts couple finds their perfect space at Linden Ponds

Created date

Even before Linden Ponds opened, Hingham resident Eva Marx knew she and her husband Tom had a future there. The couple joined the Erickson Living community s priority list, and during visits to Linden Ponds, Eva formed a clear sense of the kind of home she wanted when she left her house of 50 years. The real turning point was when Cathy called, Eva says, remembering the call from Sales Counselor Cathy Gray, who called to say she had an apartment home she thought the couple would like. Clearly somebody was keeping track of what we wanted and really understood. As soon as I saw the particular space I m in now, there was never any question it was the place for me, Eva says. That space was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom with sunroom apartment. Through its expansive kitchen windows, Eva and Tom can watch the sun set beyond the trees.

Unrivaled space, amenities

When Linden Ponds designed these apartments, they really anticipated what people would need, she adds. There really are no other communities that offer the same kind of amenities and space that a place of this size has, anywhere in this area. Before their move this June, the Marxes began the downsizing process with help from Personal Moving Consultant Lynne Ford. Ford recommended trusted resources, including a company that took away three truckloads of items they no longer wanted and a real estate professional who helped the Marxes close on their house less than two months after it went on the market. Ford also recommended a moving company that packed, moved, and unpacked the couple s belongings. In Hingham, Eva is active in her church, continues to serve on the board of the League of Women Voters as well as on a committee to evaluate the effectiveness of Hingham government. At Linden Ponds, she and Tom attend monthly Beethoven video showings and occasional discussion groups. That s the advantage of having been able to stay in Hingham I can continue doing things that I ve loved doing there, and at the same time, I can expand my interests here [at Linden Ponds], Eva says.
