Recently, the Tribune sat down with Brooksby Sales Director Suzanne Davis to talk about her role and what prospective residents can expect from the market and available apartment homes at Erickson Living s popular community in Peabody, Mass. Q: What is your role at ' Brooksby? A: I have the pleasure of being the sales director here, so I oversee the sales department and work with a team of six. All of us are involved with the sales process from the beginning with someone walking in the door for the first time, to handing them the keys to their apartment home at Brooksby. I am also a part of the executive team here at Brooksby, so my role is to be involved with decisions that are made about the overall Brooksby community. Q: When do you typically meet people considering a future at Brooksby? A: Our guests are invited to come to various events that we host, such as luncheons and open houses, but typically the best way to see Brooksby is during a one-on-one appointment with Sales Counselor Jane McIntire or any other member of the sales team. Each member of our team has a designated role in the process, and my role can vary from day to day as I oversee the entire sales process. Q: What does the housing market look like right now? A: The market has experienced significant improvement over the past 9 to 12 months. With interest rates still down and inventory in many areas extremely low, appropriately priced properties are moving quickly. As always, it is extremely important that sellers look to their selected real estate agent s market analysis and comparable home sales in their area when they price their house. Proper pricing is the key, as always! Q: How has Brooksby responded to the market prices? A: We ve adjusted our prices to fit what s in the market at this time. We ve priced our apartments to accommodate those people in the market who have had to take less for their homes as well. We re working as a team to make sure that that is not an obstacle. There have been times when people think that they can t afford to move to Brooksby when, in fact, they really can. Q: What is available at ' Brooksby? A: Availability at Brooksby changes from day to day with certain styles sold out and limited availability in many categories. With current discounts of $10,000 on select apartment homes, inventory is moving. By joining our priority list, people considering a future at Brooksby will be invited to events in the community and will secure them a place in line to reserve an apartment home without having any time constraints placed on their decision-making process. When they have decided to make the move, we strongly encourage those on our priority list to select an apartment home first and then list their property for sale. We work closely with our clients as they market their current house, recommending trusted realty and moving professionals in our network of experts and being there every step of the way.
