You don t see with anything other than your heart after 33 years, says Aris Staruch. In order to successfully sell our home, we needed a fresh set of eyes and an honest opinion. And that is exactly what Anna Greves, Greenspring s personal moving consultant, provided Aris and her husband Phil as they prepared to sell their Alexandria, Va., house and move to Greenspring. Anna first visited us in our house and immediately made us comfortable, says Aris. We told her what we wanted to take with us to Greenspring and she took careful notes. Greves recommended a real estate agent and a moving company from Greenspring s list of trusted moving professionals. With the ups and downs in the real estate market, we did not know what to expect, says Aris. But Anna was very honest, upfront, and absolutely positive. She told us what, in her opinion, needed to be done to prepare our house for the market. That was really important because we loved our house as it was, and we really needed her advice on how to make our house ready for someone else to love.

Following a plan

The Staruches removed their wall-to-wall carpeting and polished the hardwood floors underneath. They sealed some windows and repainted a few rooms. While the renovations were under way, the couple worked with a moving company, also recommended by Greves, to pack and move their belongings to Greenspring. Moving can be such a stressful time, says Aris, but thanks to Anna, it was a warm, positive experience for us. She was always available if we had questions. Moving to Greenspring in late November 2011, the Staruches couldn t be happier with their decision. We ve loved it from the very beginning, says Aris. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. As the year anniversary of their move approaches, the couple s busy schedule continues to grow. I love that there are so many choices to make, says Aris. Life at Greenspring is exactly how you want it to be. I am now playing Sudoku and singing with the choristers. Phil is a member of both the French and computer clubs. We are both enjoying life doing exactly what we want to do.
