Warming up to winter

New home means fewer worries this winter for Peg Schmidt

Several years ago, Peg Schmidt determined that one day she d live at Ann s Choice, Erickson Living s community in Bucks County, Pa. This spring, she found her dream home available and moved in July. The move dispelled her concerns about how the economy could affect her ability to leave an inheritance for her children because Erickson Living s refundable entrance deposit secures her legacy (ask to see the Residence and Care Agreement for complete details). Gone too are her worries about home maintenance and spending another winter in her house in Horsham.

The next big thing

I had oil heat, and the costs went up every year, Peg says. Where I lived, the electricity went out at the drop of a hat. I d wonder if it would be hours or days before it was restored. While her heating and air conditioning were working fine, I was always thinking, What s the next big thing I ll have to do or pay for? she says. It s always something, and it s usually something bigger than you expected. I go to bed now and just sleep. She knows that if her disposal s on the fritz or her heating unit needs replacing, the expert maintenance staff at Ann s Choice is just a phone call away to solve her problem quickly, courteously, professionally, and at no charge. Peg is especially glad not to shovel her driveway. The Ann s Choice ground crew handles that chore, immediately clearing roads, parking lots, and sidewalks of snow and ice.

A simple move to a perfect place

Like 90% of new residents this year, Peg used the services of Personal Moving Consultant Colleen Rosica to simplify her move. Because Peg was a member of the Ann s Choice priority list, Rosica s personalized assistance was complimentary. Joining the list gives members the right of first refusal on an available apartment home based on their priority list date. Joining is doubly important now because Ann s Choice is 98% sold out. Being on the list can help members more quickly sell their house and move into the home of their dreams at Ann s Choice. Peg listed her house with a real estate agent from Rosica s network of preferred service providers, and it sold in two days. Her new home a bright, cheerful one-bedroom Dover floor plan boasts a balcony for her and deep windowsills where her cats sit and watch Peg s neighbors walk their dogs. She s already joined the community s garden club. Next July, she ll be picking her flowers and harvesting her vegetables.
