As Inga Brandimarte looks out across the mountaintops and cliffsides to Pompton Lake in the distance, she says, I will not miss my high-rise apartment in Cliffside Park. I haven t missed it for a second. In Cliffside Park, N.J., Inga had a stunning view of Manhattan, the northern part of the Palisades, and the Hudson River. I like to live high; I like to have a view, she explains. That s why she chose a one-bedroom, Brighton-style apartment home on the seventh floor when she moved to Cedar Crest, an Erickson Living community in Pompton Plains, N.J. The view was the most important factor when I moved here, she says. And the view here pleases me very much. While a view may not provide living space, Cedar Crest meets Inga s more practical needs too, especially when it came to selling her condo and moving.

Moving assistance

Inga utilized the help of Margaret Semezko,Erickson Realty and Moving Services personal moving consultant, whose services are free to people moving to Cedar Crest. Semezko assists with selecting a trusted real estate agent, pricing and staging the home, choosing a moving company, and deciding what furniture will fit in the person s new Cedar Crest apartment home. For Inga, Semezko s services were invaluable. She worked with my real estate agent to sell my condo as fast as possible, Inga says. She came to my apartment and helped plan what furniture would fit and what I should leave behind. And she recommended the most professional, courteous moving company. Because Inga used a Cedar Crest-preferred real estate agent, she qualified for the Move On Us Program, which reimburses up to $2,000 of moving costs for new residents using the program. Inga says she has jumped into life at Cedar Crest. She immediately joined the German Club, where she practices her native language, drinks wine, and socializes with fellow German speakers. She swims in the indoor pool, attends lectures, and takes trips to Manhattan to see her friends. Most of all, she anticipates the spring gardening season, as she plans to grow a garden for the first time since childhood. There s so much to look forward to here, she says.
