Audrey Lemick moved to Wind Crest because she says, It s where I want to be. She and her husband had looked at the Erickson Living community in Highlands Ranch, Colo., together she wanted to move, but he wasn t ready. But when he died, Audrey asked herself, Where do I want to be? She knew she didn t like being alone in a big house in Lakewood, and Wind Crest s stunning views and all-season indoor swimming pool enticed her, so she gave herself the gift she needed being around friendly people, where she could also swim every day!

Enlisting the experts

At first, Audrey used her own real estate agents to sell her house. After months of inactivity, her house remained unsold and she still hadn t moved to Wind Crest. So she enlisted the help of Erickson Realty and Moving Services, a complimentary suite of services for people moving to an Erickson Living community. Wind Crest put her in touch with a trusted real estate agent as well as downsizing, packing, and moving companies. Easygoing and cheerful, Audrey says, I had a good time downsizing and packing with Erickson Realty and Moving Services experts like Senior Move Manager Lynne Duesenberg of Space Management. They joked as they decided what should stay and what should go, which made the whole process easier. Somehow, they knew all along how much I should take with me, Audrey adds. Beth Brandenburg, Wind Crest s personal moving consultant, helped Audrey with furniture placement using a blueprint design of her two-bedroom apartment home at Wind Crest. Audrey also purchased a new coffee table, dresser, and table to honor her fresh start. I knew I wanted my life to be different at the community, and I wanted to make some of my surroundings different too, Audrey says. Audrey says her two-bedroom apartment is just right for her.
