A new face at Seabrook

Something is new at Seabrook, and it s not just the New Year. Have you been there lately to find out what it is? It s Julie Seydel, new sales director at the Erickson Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J. If you re interested in moving to the community, you ll meet her in person. But here s an exclusive introduction to the person who will help you take that exciting next step. Q: What does your role as sales director entail? A: As the director of sales at Seabrook, I assist my sales team in increasing awareness of Seabrook in the senior community who we are and all the wonderful services we provide, from beautifully appointed apartment homes to the on-site medical center to our fitness and aquatics center to more than 120 resident-run clubs and activities. Mostly, my job is to help people become members of this community. Q: What is your background, and how has it made you competent in your current role? A: My background is mostly a combination of health care and exposure to CCRCs [continuing care retirement communities]. I ve been in assisted living and skilled nursing environments and home health care, all in a sales capacity. In this position, I can get closer to the residents and to my team. Previously, in regional sales positions, I was always on the road. Now, I m in it day to day. I m much more connected to the population we serve. That s what I m most excited about. Q: When and how could someone interested in moving to Seabrook expect to interact with you? A: As the new manager, I want to be front and center. I team up with every member of my staff here as both a shadow and a resource. Someone coming in for an appointment could meet with me or Susan Coulson, our sales counselor, or both of us. I also team up with Laurie Williamson, our personal moving consultant, who helps handle the logistics of selling and moving and helps to make the entire process easier. The more I connect, the more I can understand people s needs and help ease any concerns or fears. I look forward to meeting with prospective residents and helping them through this exciting time. It s especially rewarding for me to watch someone who has been isolated in their house move to Seabrook and make friends, get involved, and be exposed to the culture and events here. My team and I help people realize all that s available for them at Seabrook and take that exciting next step. Moving here is a really positive thing they re doing, and we help them realize that. Q: What advice do you have for people interested in moving to Seabrook, even those who might be hesitant? A: I encourage people to take an opportunity to meet the people who live here our ambassadors. Additionally, joining the priority list is extremely important for anyone interested in moving here. It gives people an opportunity to choose their preferred apartment style and location according to the date they join the list. The priority list also starts the process of education. It s important for people to do their homework in seeking senior living options. The priority list enables you to truly experience life at Seabrook with exclusive events and opportunities to meet residents and learn more about the community. Q: Since you ve started, how have you seen the sales team and other staff members contribute to making people s lives better and their move easier? A: Any change is difficult at first, but between our personal moving consultant, our sales counselor, and the rest of our sales team members, that change will be a lot easier. As I said before, Susan Coulson, our sales counselor, is very much in touch with our customers. She knows everything about their needs. Angela Garofolo, sales associate at Seabrook, is well known for her personal care in making sure you get the apartment home you want and all the logistics of your move are handled with ease. From apartment upgrades to moving assistance, our team is skilled at making people feel at home quickly. They go above and beyond to help individuals feel at ease in a move.
