Ann’s Choice celebrates its 10th anniversary

Created date

March 26th, 2013

From February through August, Ann s Choice is holding one festive occasion after another to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Erickson Living s community in Bucks County, Pa., officially opened August 1, 2003, with a joyous ribbon cutting to welcome its first residents, the pioneers who came together to form the vibrant, thriving community that exists today. The 100-acre campus had two residence buildings and one clubhouse then. Today, it comprises three neighborhoods, each with a clubhouse and five residence buildings, plus a continuing care neighborhood; some 2,000 people call Ann s Choice home.

Monthly celebrations

The anniversary celebrations began February 22 with a wine and cheese reception, speeches by local dignitaries and Ann s Choice staff, a symbolic ribbon cutting by the community s first resident, Shirley Riel, and a retrospective slide show. Sales Counselor Marie Dmoch delivered the keynote address. She has been with the community since day one. In March, the Ann s Choice Chorus, which also launched in 2003, sang its audience down memory lane during two performances. On April 11, 12, and 13, the Ann s Choice Players will present their first musical,Sometimes a Rainbow. Not only does the show boast an all-resident cast of actors, singers, and dancers, but its producer, co-directors, and technical crew all are residents, too. May will feature an antique car show and parade. June s event, Hands Across Ann s Choice, could be the signature celebratory activity. The community s residents and staff will encircle the campus and be captured in a commemorative aerial photo. And residents written memories of their lives at Ann s Choice will be hung throughout the community s three clubhouses. July will highlight the annual resident-led July 4th celebration. On August 1, an elegant anniversary dinner in each of the community s four restaurants will officially conclude the celebratory revelry.
